Guardianship Tribunal - Financial Management Orders

When a person cannot manage their financial affairs (and an enduring power of attorney doesn't exist) it may be necessary to get orders from the Guardianship Tribunal. That is particularly so where the affected person has substantial assets that may need to be protected.

These types of applications can be made either to the Guardianship Tribunal (where most applications occur) or to the Supreme Court of New South Wales (where some applications are made).

It is important to prepare such applications properly by having appropriate evidence to support the application. In some cases this could require evidence from the person bringing the application, relevant experts, appropriate consents et cetera.

Given the likelihood that there exists conflict between family members about how best to proceed there may be some sense in getting a solicitor with experience involved to help.

If a friend or family member needs help with the financial management of their affairs because they are incapable of doing so due to a disability then contact our office to discuss your case.
