Time Limit For Contesting A Will
The time limit for contesting a will depends on when the testator died.
Generally, the will needs to be challenged within 12 months from the date of death but in some cases there may need to be an application to extend time.
Usually, if the will does not make adequate provision for a person's proper maintenance, education and advancement then it makes sense to exercise rights promptly otherwise they may be prejudiced.
If you need to bring an application to challenge a will (or to oppose such an application) then contact us to book a conference where we can discuss your needs. Also, if you need advice about whether you are entitled to bring an application to extend the time to contest a will then this is something we can advise you on.
